Guide to Lumen Student Access

Logging into Lumen Student Access

To login you will need three pieces of information that are included on your notification letter:  Location #, Student Access User ID, and Student Access User Password.  All three of these can be found in the middle of your notification letter.

Changing Your Password

After successfully logging in, you may want to change your password.  At the lower left hand side of the screen click the EzStart button > hover over the Personal Center > move your mouse to the right and click Change Password

Enter the new password and confirm.   Click Save Password

Entering Your Email Address in Lumen

You may also want to add your email address to your personal settings so that you can quickly receive forgotten password information instead of waiting for it to be mailed to you.  At the lower left hand side of the screen click the EzStart button > hover over the Personal Center > move your mouse to the right and click Personal Settings.

Enter your personal email address.  If you do not have an email address you can easily create a GmailYahoo, or Hotmail address (you will need to do this from home).  After entering your address click Save and Edit.  This window does not close after clicking Save and Edit so you will need to close the window by clicking the X at the top of the Personal Settings window.

Printing - Pop-up Blocker settings

Please be aware that to print any information you must allow pop-ups from

the Lumen site in your browser.

By default, Firefox blocks annoying pop-up windows on websites. Some websites, such as Lumen, make legitimate use of pop-up windows. The first time you try to print, Firefox will consider the window that needs to open a pop-up window.  When this happens a notification will appear at the top of the window with an Options button.  To add Lumen to the pop-up exceptions click on the Options button.

Next select Allow pop-ups for lumen.vallivue.org

If the Options notification does not appear and your Print window does not open up, you can manually add Lumen to the exceptions.  To do this go to the Firefox's menu bar and click on Tools ~ Options.

Select the Content tab. Click Exceptions..., enter the site name, and click Allow.  For more information, see Firefox's Pop-up blocker article.
