Each student is expected to keep a spiral notebook for math only. Please do not use your math notebook for any purpose other than math work. Use the following guidelines when recording assignments in your notebook:

1. Head each assignment, on the left side, with the assignment number using this format: A07.

2. Use two or three columns if there is room to save space.

3. Start new assignments on the same page as the end of the previous assignment unless there is no more room.

4. Use both sides of the page.

5. Keep assignments in order as much as possible.

6. Copy all problems except long word problems. For long word problems, write down any important information.

7. Show any steps used for solving the problem.

8. Keep scratch work out of the notebook.

Notebooks will be collected and scored periodically. Advance notice may or may not be given. Sometimes I will check assignments on your desk and score them right there.
